a reading by poet MARY MONROE

Description: Dear Members & Friends,

Join us on Sunday, November 17, for the ninth event of our 100th Anniversary Year Celebration, a reading by poet MARY MONROE, followed by our usual Open Mic. The event will be held from 2-5 pm, in the Living Room at Legacy at Cranberry Landing.

Join us on Sunday, November 17, 2-5 pm, for a special treat, a performance by singer-songwriter-musician Mary Monroe, followed by our Open Mic. This is the ninth event in our 100th Anniversary Celebration and will, as usual, be held in the Living Room at Legacy at Cranberry Landing.

A singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, therapeutic musician, and music instructor, music is Mary Monroe’s full time work. Her main instruments for performances are the lever harp, acoustic guitar, and voice although she also teaches ukulele, and piano and plays the tenor and soprano recorder. Her own music is best described as World-Americana although she performs classical and new age ambient music as well.

Rochester’s own "Harp Goddess," Mary has been a professional musician since the age of 14. She received her musical wings performing with her family group The Monroes. The group included her father Dennis, her mother Mary Ellen Durante-Monroe and her older brother Nicholas.

Monroe’s duo with Nate Coffey, Nate & Mary, has become very popular since they started collaborating in March 2018. They've recorded 3 singles and are working on completing a full album soon. They've performed over 100 concerts together traveling throughout New York State and are planning a national and international tour in the near future.

Don't forget that our open mics are NOT limited to poets: singers, musicians, short fiction writers, comics, and even dancers are also welcome.

Even if you can't join us, if you know folks who might enjoy attending, to perform or as audience members, pass the word and send them the following link to our public invite: http://j.mp/RoPo1911

You can also support RoPo's ongoing efforts with an annual membership, which is still only $20. To join using your credit/debit card, go to http://squareup.com/store/rochester-poets/

Our readings are FREE and open to the public; donations to support Rochester Poets are welcome and gratefully accepted. Refreshments served.

See you on the 17th,
