Community Forum on Safe Staffing for Nursing Homes

Description: The Elder Justice Committee of Metro Justice is hosting a Community Forum on Thursday, October 17th and we’re inviting you to attend to listen and/or to give a 3 minute testimony on the need for NYS to pass the Safe Staffing for Quality Care Act bill in the 2020 legislative session which begins January 2020. This Act would require all NYS nursing homes to have a minimum direct care nursing staff hours per resident per day of 4.1 hours, which is an modest 10% increase from the current statewide average of 3.73. This Act will primarily force the worst nursing homes to add much well-needed staff!
