PeaceWorks Rochester

reading by Buffalo-based poet SCOTT WILLIAMS

Join us for the fourth event of our 100th Anniversary year, a reading by Buffalo-based poet SCOTT WILLIAMS, followed by our Open Mic. Sunday, May 19, 2-5 pm, in the Living Room at Legacy at Cranberry Landing.

Scott Williams is a SUNY Buffalo Emeritus Professor of Mathematics. He's also a poet and author of short stories who's been a featured reader in New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Ontario, and The Virgin Islands.

His poetry and fiction has appeared in a number of journals and newspapers, among them The Buffalo News, Juniper, Punch Drunk Press, Owl Light News, and Scryptic Magazine.

His most recent books are "Bonvibre Haiku" (CWP Press, 2017), "Natural Shrinkage" (Destitute Press, 2018) and the sci-fi poetry & flash-fiction series "A Flash of Dark, Vol 1 & 2" (Writers Den, 2018). He co-produces the reading series Second Stage Writers in Buffalo and Poets Soup in Canandaigua and hosts workshops in the poetic forms ghazal and haiku.

Don't forget that our open mics are NOT limited to poets: singers, musicians, short fiction writers, comics, and even dancers are also welcome.

Even if you can't join us, if you know folks who might enjoy attending, to perform or as audience members, pass the word and send them the following link to our public invite:

You can also support RoPo's ongoing efforts with an annual membership, which is still only $20. To join using your credit/debit card, go to

Our readings are FREE and open to the public; donations to support Rochester Poets are encouraged and gratefully accepted. Refreshments served.

See you on the 19th,
