Rochester Poets Reading featuring poet JB Fletcher

Description: Join us for the second event of our 100th Anniversary year, a reading by JB FLETCHER, followed by our Open Mic. Sunday, March 17, 2-5 pm, in the Living Room at Legacy at Cranberry Landing.

JB Fletcher’s mix of materials, styles, and humor has garnered a modest following of enthusiasts for his "noirettes," or pitches for Used Fish™ and unconventional yoga practices. He is the originator of the noirette style of micro-fiction.

His poetry and performance pieces have been presented in many Rochester area venues including: Writers and Books, the High Falls Art Gallery, the Artist’s Breakfast Group, the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA), and Nazareth College.

Venues for his humor monologues have included pubs and micro-breweries such as Lock 32, Fairport Brewing, Record Archive, and The Rabbit Room. The supply of Used Fish™ t-shirts is limited, so contact him soon.

Fletcher’s undergraduate studies included work with award-winning novelist E.L. Doctorow and poet June Jordan. For many years, he followed the poetry and literary community, and attended readings by our national poets and other writers. A former trial lawyer, Fletcher continues to work with people and works as a counselor, trainer and advocate. He writes professionally, and the decisions for a number of his court cases are in the law books.

Don't forget that our open mics are NOT limited to poets: singers, musicians, short fiction writers, comics, and even dancers are also welcome.

Even if you can't join us, if you know folks who might enjoy attending, to perform or as audience members, pass the word and send them the following link to our public invite:

You can also support RoPo's ongoing efforts with an annual membership, which is still only $20. To join using your credit/debit card, go to

Our readings are FREE and open to the public; donations to support Rochester Poets are encouraged and gratefully accepted. Refreshments served.

See you on Sunday,
