Havana Curveball is the touching real-life story of a 13-year-old boy who decides to provide baseball equipment to Cuban children as his Bar-Mitzvah service project. But his simple idea to help children runs into the very grownup politics of the U.S. Cuban Embargo and U.S. politics.

The hour-long film showing will be followed by a discussion led by ROCLA Steering Committee member Vic Vinkey, who has visited Cuba several times with Pastors for Peace and is knowledgeable about the embargo and other barriers to trade with Cuba. While President Obama did begin to normalize relations with Cuba, the Embargo continues in force and President Trump has threatened to tighten visitation and trade again.
