Description:
Building Community: The Intersection of Faith and Arts 100 Years of Ecumenical Cooperation in Rochester October 20, 2:30 p.m. – Third Presbyterian Church The Greater Rochester Community of Churches Faith in Action Network celebrates the 100th anniversary of intentional ecumenical cooperation in Rochester on Sunday, October 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church, 4 Meigs St. in Rochester. Building Community: The Intersection of Faith and Arts features the world premier of “Fresh Wind for our Sails” by local renowned composer Cary Ratcliff. The music will be performed by the Telos Trio of Hochstein-based performers Rita George Simmons, Debbie Grohman, and Willie La Favor. The music will be complemented with special artwork created by city youth. As October 18-20 is also The Children’s Agenda Interfaith Weekend, they will update us on the lives of our children and invite us to act together to build a better life for kids. We believe that every child is our own. We’ll hear stories about how faith communities and our partners have acted to build a community of justice in greater Rochester over the last one hundred years. Everyone is invited to this festive celebration, part of a year-long rediscovery of the Fresh Wind that is blowing among us as together we become the Beloved Community.
