3:00pm [3:00pm] Changing cities; a changing climate
Description:
Saturday, April 27, 2019 3:00pm - 4:30pm Flying Squirrel Community Space 285 Clarissa Street Rochester, NY Suggested Donation: $5 Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/270965857115898/?active_tab=about This talk, presented by Chris Snyder, will serve as a primer to the thought and legacy of the 20th century anarchist theorist and political philosopher Murray Bookchin. In the coming decades, the effects of a changing climate will leave no part of our lives untouched. Bookchin's Communalism offers a framework by which these challenges can be addressed on a local level. About Chris Snyder: Christopher Snyder grew up on a hobby farm in Darien New York. While completing a Masters in Bioinformatics at the Rochester Institute of Technology he developed interests in dancing, philosophy, and community organizing. Christopher now lives in downtown Rochester and volunteers with the Flying Squirrel community space. Themed Programming: This film screening is a part of our environment themed programming for March and April. Don't miss Neely Kelley's talk on “#FuelChange for Electric School Buses!” happening on 4/29, at 6:00pm! About the Flying Squirrel Community Space: We exist to provide a welcoming space that will cultivate and sustain long lasing relationships between activists, artists, and community members in Rochester so that we may work together to create positive social change.
