Intersections of Rebellion & Accountability A panel discussion focused on civilian review boards, disciplinary power, and the comparable struggles and histories for police accountability in Rochester, NY, Newark, NJ, and Oakland, CA Date: Saturday, May 26, 2018 Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Location: TBA Suggested donation: $10 Wheelchair accessible and ASL interpretation provided Facebook event: https://m.facebook.com/events/194485074506156 Special guests include: Anthony Finnell, Sr. currently serves as the Interim Executive Director of the Community Police Review Agency (CPRA) in Oakland, CA Pastor Wanda Wilson is the Executive Director at Open Arms Christian Fellowship Ministries and a leader in the movement to pass a Police Accountability Board in Rochester, NY Victor Monterrosa is a lawyer and community organizer who helped pass the Civilian Complaint Review Board in Newark, NJ Dr. John S. Walker is the pastor at Christian Friendship Missionary Baptist Church; he was involved in F.I.G.H.T. – a premiere civil rights organization - led a shut down of the divinity school over its lack of African American curriculum and faculty as well as designed and submitted his own piece of legislation in the 1980s for a civilian review board with teeth
