[5:00pm] Join Rochester NOW in our UNHAPPY HOUR between 5:00 and 6:00 pm
Description:
April 10, 2018 is Equal Pay Day! Join Rochester NOW in our UNHAPPY HOUR between 5:00 and 6:00 pm Protest the low wages women earn compared to men. Wear red to symbolize "seeinig red" over unfair pay. We have plenty of signs or bring one of your own. Gather on East Ave. across the street from the AAUW House at 494 East Avenue. The Unhappy Hour will close with a cash bar inside the AAUW House. Just to catch up to what a white male earned in 2017, Latinas need to work all the way into November 2018. African-American women need to work into July. White women need to work until April 17. April 10 is designated Equal Pay Day to represent all women. Sponsored by Rochester NOW Note: Also on April 10 there will be a talk on The Fight for Minimum Wage for Tip Workers. The talk will be held at 7:00 pm at the AAUW House, 494 East Ave. This event is sponsored by Rochester NOW and the Greater Rochester Area Branch of AAUW. Both events are free and open to the public. -- Barbara Moore, Moore Results 585.748.1850 bmoore@mooreresults.com
