7:00pm [7:00pm] A Conversation on Immigration, Then and Now
Description:
A Conversation on Immigration–Then and Now The Interracial Clergy Council of Henrietta and Rush is sponsoring a conversation on Immigration–Then and Now at 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 28, at Henrietta United Church of Christ. Rev. Dr. John Walker, a font of fascinating history, will share some highlights of how our country dealt with immigrants in the past. Then we’ll ponder together what drives our human tendency to turn people into the “other” whom we label and dismiss as “less than.” How can we as a culture move past this domination of those who are “out” by those who are “in?” What role can faith communities play? We’ll explore how this is possible and necessary if we are to create a world that works. Come join in this stimulating and important conversation, which will be held at Henrietta United Church of Christ, 1400 Lehigh Station Rd., in Henrietta. And please invite others to join you as we address one of the most important issues of our times. The event is free. For more information, contact Dave Inglis at dri.inglis@gmail.com.
